Bodyworlds exhibition

I went to the world famous bodyworlds exhibition on the weekend. It involves a process called plastination where bodies are preserved have a look at . It was fascinating but also quite gruesome as you remembered that these were real people once. The most shocking was a pregnant women who had her stomach opened and you could see the unborn foetus inside. This was topped by a man and woman having sex. Other highlights included smokers ling, heart disease, a hip replacement, fracture repairs, enlarged livers and a stomach and spleen on display. It was fascinating to the nerves, muscles and blood supplies of the body clearly on display. A must for all anatomy students.

neck pain

Well this week has certainly been one for neck pain. I have been chatting to Rupert the chiropractor at C1 and he too has noticed a sudden increase in people coming for treatment for neck pain. All the necks have been the old favourite levator scapulae plus trapezius muscles solid as a rock. If you work at a computer in a fixed position staring at a screen then you need to move and stretch to avoid problems, its that simple. I have written an article all about this on my website at http://www.bentolson.co.uk/newsletters_3.html.
